The main reducer is used to drive shaft gear configuration. It basically consists of small gear, gear ring, and differential; mainly use spiral bevel gear and hypoid gear. The main reducer has three functions:
Pinion transfer the torque on the drive shaft and speed at right angles to the gear ring which is connected to the differential. Because of the gear ratio, as torque increases, speed reduces. Differential allowed turning at different wheel speed. Due to the long journey of lateral wheel, it is necessary. But the torque keeps constant.
